SnippetSelect

Privacy Policy

Effective 3 November 2026

In short: SnippetSelect collects no data at all.

SnippetSelect is a Mac app made by SH Creative Works. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

Information we collect

None. SnippetSelect doesn't collect, store, share or sell any personal information, and we have no way of seeing what you save in it.

Your snippets

The names, values and keyboard shortcuts you save are stored only on your Mac, inside the app's private storage area that macOS provides to sandboxed apps. They aren't sent anywhere and aren't synced to any service.

If you use Export, SnippetSelect writes a backup file only to the location you choose. If you use Import, it reads only the file you pick. What you do with those files is up to you.

No internet access

SnippetSelect contains no networking code, and it runs in Apple's App Sandbox without permission to use the network, so macOS prevents it from connecting to the internet. It includes no third-party code, analytics or crash-reporting tools.

The clipboard

When you choose a snippet, SnippetSelect places that snippet's text on your Mac's clipboard so you can paste it. It never reads what's already on your clipboard.

Keyboard shortcuts

SnippetSelect's shortcuts use macOS's standard shortcut registration, which tells the app only when one of its own key combinations is pressed. It doesn't monitor or record anything else you type. While you're recording a new shortcut in its window, it reads only the keys you press there.

Open at login

If you turn on Open at login, macOS starts SnippetSelect when you log in. It's off unless you switch it on, and you can turn it off at any time in the app's Settings or in System Settings › General › Login Items.

Deleting your data

Use Settings › Clear All… in the app to delete every snippet. Deleting the app from your Applications folder removes the app itself; macOS may keep its storage folder until you also delete the SnippetSelect folder inside ~/Library/Containers (in Finder, choose Go › Go to Folder… and type that path).

Children

SnippetSelect collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If SnippetSelect ever started collecting any information, this page would say so clearly beforehand.
